The 2009 Buggs Island Team Tournaments - Angler's Choice Stratos Trail Shoot-Out Championship could not have gotten any closer. Two teams tied for the first place honors for the Stratos 176 XT boat at 16.98 lbs. Keith Redd (Virgilina, VA) and Dom Barretta (Clarksville, VA) shared equal weights with the team of Dennis Reedy (Siler City, NC) and Tommy Marrow (Oxford, NC). Per tournament rules, first and second place purses were combined and the teams split $3500 in cash and worked out a gentleman's agreement on the boat. Congratulations to Keith, Dom, Dennis, and Tommy and thanks for working together on a solution agreeable to all.
Third place: Brandon Grey (Bullock, NC) and Nathan Webber (Boone, NC); 6 fish 16.82 lbs, $2000
Foruth place: Jack Markham, Jr and Jack Markham, III, (Durham, NC); 6 fish 15.50 lbs, $1100
Fifth place: Tony Woodard (Four Oaks, NC) and Scott Smith (Apex, NC); 6 fish 15.10 lbs, $800
Sixth Place: Donnie Avant (Summerfield, NC) and Barry Jackson (High Point, NC); 6 fish 14.52 lbs, $550
Seventh Place: Tim Spainhour (Greensboro, NC) and Schonn Denny (Julian, NC); 6 fish 14.08 lbs, $400
Eight Place: Abe Abernathy (Greensboro, NC) and David Lucas (High Point, NC); 5 fish 12.76 lbs, $350
Lucky Dog Winners: Odis and Rob Warren (Burlington, NC) $100
Tournament Lunker: Keith Redd and Dom Barretta 5.16 lbs $480
#2 Tournament Lunker: Jack Markam, Jr and Jack Markham, III 4.90 lbs $200
There was also a tied for Mini-Lunker Novelty Pot. Tim Davidson and Glenn Boyd ties with Tony Woodard and Scott Smith with a whopping .08 pounder. The four split $160.
Since there was a tied for first place, the Team Calcutta ended in a tie. Elvin Jennings and David Coles who's winning team of Redd and Barretta, split the $160 pot with the team of Tony Woodard and Scott Smith who's winning team was Dennis Reedy and Tommy Marrow.
The 2009 Points Champions were Brandon Gray and Nathan Webber. Brandon and Nathan won the $1000 Minn Kota Bonus money for their outstanding year. Jason and Danny Houchins were points championship runner-ups and won a new Minn-Kota Edge trolling motor.
