223 teams made it to the first tournament of 2012 at Smith Mountain Lake on March 3rd and we want to keep the momentum going as we head to Kerr Lake on April 7th. We had 6 teams winning over $1000 in our first tournament of 2012 since we have established new sponsorships for an increased payback for the 2012 season.
Congratulations to Kenny and Brandon Reynolds for their first place finish, they took home a check for $3000. Wayne Burchett and Don Dalton finished second and had the 4.11 lb lunker smallmouth of the day. They took home a total of $4230. All of our competitors had a great weekend and the tournament staff was worn out after weighing so many fish. Angler's Choice paid 44 places in this tournament and a lot of people went home with a check in their pocket.
We head to Kerr Lake for stop number two (2) and if you have not pre-registered yet, we are filling up fast. Please pre-register to help us plan for the food and to reduce the waiting time the morning of the tournament. Pre-registration for the April 7 tournament at Kerr will end on Thursday April 5th at noon. The Best Western will be the host motel in Clarksville. Be sure you tell them that you are fishing the Angler's Choice Trail to receive a special rate being offered. The Lake Motel will do the same.
We need your help with our launch at the beginning of the tournaments. If you are a high number to launch please don’t come to the launch area until an announcement is made at the beginning of each flight. This way you will know what is going on as the tournament begins. This may slow down the launch a little, but we need to do something about the congestion at our launch site. Please don’t come to the launch area until we start to get close to your number.
